Sewing 101

INSTRUCTOR: Stacy Wright

CLASS FEE: $75

MIN/MAX STUDENTS: 3/6

Has it been a while since you have used your machine, if ever? We will work through many useful skills such as:

  • The basics of your machine

  • Threading & winding bobbins

  • Correct needles for specific fabrics

  • Straight stitching and seam allowances

  • Backstitching, pivoting at corners

  • How to course correct a seam allowance gone astray

  • Basic tools used in sewing such as seam rippers, scissors, seam gauges, pins, and the importance of ironing in sewing.

Bring your own machine (complete with bobbins and a spool of thread) with the paper manual or online manual access, or learn on student machines. Two student machines are available for this class, first requests will secure those machines.
